used for 2 to 8 weeks This is a versatile tarp. We have used it as a rain/sun shelter on picnics, a cover & windbrake while cooking at camp and a makeshift porch for our tent (it didn't work so well for this as there was still a gap between the tent and the porch). We are really pleased with it but it would be great if the poles were longer as my 6'4" husband can't stand up underneath it. We'll probably buy some extra poles to increase the height and give us more options. It does get really hot underneath when the sun is out so do wish we'd spent the extra to get the sun reflecting version.

One of my favorite bits of camping kit.

Totally versatile - from a shelter to a wind break

Stability in high winds, flaps a lot!

used for More than 2 years Wanted a cheap shelter for camping that will pack down small for cramming into the car so bough this. With the addition of 2 more pairs of poles, (210cm & 180cm poles) the set up possibilities are endless. Add a spare guyrope to make up a sheltered clothes line between the poles. Turn it upside down to hold a small lightweight lamp centrally at dusk. Make a wind break to shelter cooking equipment. Heavy rain, no problem, just raise the front and lower the back so the water doesn't pool up. We managed to squeeze 10 people + chairs, table and cooking equipment under it on the last camping trip. The only negatives are that it flaps a lot in a breeze and I got scared one very windy night that it was going to get destroyed so I took it down until morning. 3 years on and its the next item of kit I put into the car for a camping trip after the tent. What are you waiting for, £20, just buy it, and never go camping without it.

Stock advice

STORAGE - after use or cleaning, do not store the tarp until it is perfectly dry to prevent odours and mould from forming.

Care instructions:

1 CLEANING - if needed, the tarp can be cleaned using soapy water, then rinsed (with a hose if possible). Then leave to dry completely. 2 TREE SAP STAINS - Can be very hard to remove Once the stain is fully dry, gently scratch it off while holding an ice cube on the inside of the fabric to make the sap brittle so it will come off more easily. 3 STORAGE - after use or cleaning, do not store the tarp until it is perfectly dry to prevent odours and mould from forming.
