Technical information
Living room Volume is the major benefit of this tent (6.5m² / 1.85m high) -- Much light inside-- 3-function window-- Standard 2-pole canopy for even more space in the living room.
Bedroom Enough space for 4, very comfortable for 3 and luxurious for 2. -- Breathable polyester with low vents.
Waterproofing As with all Quechua tents, a lot of work is put in to ensuring they are watertight, through laboratory testing (an ENTIRE TENT is put through 200 litres/hr/sq m!) and field testing -- PU-coated polyester flysheet -- Seams are sealed with thermo-bonded tape -- 140 g/sq m polypropylene groundsheet.
Ventilation and reduced condensation Lined flysheet for the living area (remarkable!) -- Space between the ground and the bottom edge of the flysheet -- Can open the top of the front even when it is raining -- 2 mosquito net windows that can be closed from the inside if it is raining --
Poles The structure is very stable and sturdy: living room poles are 11mm fibreglass (9.5mm for the bedroom structure) -- All our fibreglass poles are submitted to double quality contol to guarantee excellent break resistance.
Pegs Excellent twist resistance (6mm diamater steel).
Pitching One of our easiest family tents: only 3 poles -- Watch the instruction video for the T4.2 on www.quechua.com, it is very similar.
Warranty and After-sales Service Guaranteed for 2 years under normal conditions of use -- Every Decathlon store will carry out the after-sales servicing of your tent by replacing faulty parts under guarantee or those you have damaged (for payment) on the flysheet, inner tent, pole rings or carry bag. When a replacement cannot be done, a repair will be suggested.
Care instructions:
1 CLEANING: if need be, clean the tent with soapy water then rinse (with a hose if possible). Then dry completely. 2 RESIN STAINS (very hard to remove): once the stain is dry, gently scratch it off whilst holding an ice cube on the inside of the fabric to make the resin brittle so it will come off more easily. 3 STORAGE: after use or cleaning, do not store your tent until it is completely dry to prevent odours and mould formation.
Composition
PU-coated polyester flysheet, breathable polyester inner tent, polyethylene groundsheet, solid 9.5 and 11mm diameter fibreglass poles.
Test Product
The waterproofing of QUECHUA tents is approved by a full tent shower of 200l of water/hr/sq m. Although the water column test (=mm Schmerber) is quite well known and measures the level of waterproofing for fabrics, it is not a good indicator of how waterproof a tent is. Indeed, the fabrics are waterproof (above 1,000mm!) as they must be, but it is the tent itself that must be designed and developed to keep water out of seams, flaps, openings, zips etc. This is done using the shower test.
Restricted use :
For 4 people: sleeping width is 60cm/person.
