Technical information
Weight and cover dimensions 3.5 kg -- Carried with ease on or under a backpack: less than 40cm long -- Compression bag.
Inner space A roomy, classic tent (Bedroom: 220cm long/63cm wide per person). -- Bedroom has a double anti-insect net door -- 1m deep bell end -- Ideal for 2 hikers who are not carrying their tent (4x4, donkey) -- See diagrams.
Access The large entrance opens easily in a single movement -- Injection-moulded zip is hard-wearing for intensive use.
Pitching Classic: bedroom first then flysheet. Intuitive pitching is made easier with the aluminium spider poles and colour-coding. Bedroom can be used alone (fully free-standing) in warm weather.
Ventilation and condensation prevention 2 upper air vents -- Gap between the ground and the bottom edge of the flysheet.
Waterproofing As with all Quechua tents, a lot of work is put in to ensuring they are watertight, through laboratory testing (an ENTIRE TENT is put through 200 litres/hr/sq m!) and field testing -- PU-coated polyester flysheet -- Seams are sealed with thermo-bonded tape -- PU-coated polyamide groundsheet.
Poles 9.5mm 7001 aluminium poles for durability. All Quechua bivvy tents have aluminium poles for lightweight and maximum breakage/freeze resistance.
Tent pegs Ultralight and impossible to twist or bend (aluminium, 9g each).
Warranty and After sales service 2-year warranty for normal use -- all Decathlon stores offer after-sales service for your tent with replacement of faulty items under warranty or damaged (payable) for flysheets, bedrooms, poles or covers. If replacement of an article is not possible, a repair solution will be offered.
Care instructions:
CLEANING: if need be, clean the tent with soapy water then rinse (with a hose if possible). Then dry completely. SAP STAINS (very hard to remove): once the stain is dry, gently scratch it off whilst holding an ice cube on the inside of the fabric to make the sap brittle so it will come off more easily. STORAGE: after use or cleaning, do not store your tent until it is completely dry to prevent odours and mould formation.
Composition
PU-coated polyester flysheet, breathable polyester bedroom, PU-coated polyamide groundsheet.
Test Product
The waterproofing of QUECHUA tents is approved by a full tent shower of 200l of water/hr/sq m. Although the water column test (=mm Schmerber) is quite well known and measures the level of waterproofing for fabrics, it is not a good indicator of how waterproof a tent is. Indeed, the fabrics are waterproof (above 1,000mm!) as they must be, but it is the tent itself that must be designed and developed to keep water out of seams, flaps, openings, zips etc. This is done using the shower test.
