Poor customer experience

used for 2 to 8 weeks After ordering on line on 17/04/15 for delivery to the Croydon store, it took 8 days to arrive. When I went to collect it 2 days later the bike was still in its box. No one had checked it over to make sure the gears were operating correctly and I find they are slipping. The bike comes with a single sheet of A4 to describe how to fit the pedals and straighten the handlebars but not a manual for adjustment and servicing. I believe this is very poor. Also I now find the bike is £40 cheaper and I feel ripped-off.

Response of the brand

Dear sir,
I'm sorry to read that the bike was not set up correctly by our team.  The bike should be fully checked before being boxed/dispatched from the warehouse in the same manner as if it were sent to your home.
You are correct that we don't provide manuals for adjusting and servicing: Here is a basic booklet which will give you a lot of advice:
http://www.btwin.com/notices/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/EN_bike-notice-_-5Y-warranty-_-NOV-2013_300dpi.pdf
This bike is now on sale and since you purchased it , it has now become an end of line item, this is why the price has dropped.
I will ask our customer service team to contact you directly to listen to your concerns and make sure that we can resolve them.
Once again, please accept my apology for the issues encountered.
Regards,
Peter Lazarus UK Cycling Market Manager DECATHLON

used for 2 to 8 weeks I bought this bike, as i didn't want to spend£1000's on a new "brand" name bike. I wasn't disapointed. The huge forks at 120mm make even the steepest drops doable, and the adujustable rear shock is the same. Lock out forks make riding it up hill a doddle. The narrow handlebars make it easy to manover through small gaps, My only gripe is the poor foot clips. They get in the way, either replace them or take em off.

All my friends now want to ride my bike when we go on trails whilst doing jumps, out riding their treks and giants!!

Very good

Well pleased with bike

used for 3 to 6 months Brilliant bike, nice and lightweight but very strong structurally. Great suspension, hydraulic front forks and air rear. Nice crisp gear changes and the hydraulic brakes are precise and never give trouble (so far anyway). Good thick high grip tyres coupled with a very well designed frame and smooth ride make it very agile on tight mountain tracks, in fact it outperforms my friends £800 hardtail mtb.
Personally I feel this bike is very well designed both ergonomically and the aesthetics are very nice also.
Kudos to the designers, well done!
