How to choose your judo uniform? Tae Kwon Do is a so-called "percussive" combat sport. Unlike judo, you do not grab your opponent's uniform (except in self defence).
This is why the uniform should be light with a generous cut to enhance freedom of movement. -

What size should you choose for a child? The size of your child will determine the size of the uniform (from 110 cm to 150 cm).
In accordance with tradition, the uniforms are made from cotton, and have a natural tendency to shrink a few centimetres during the first 3 washes.
This is why we recommend choosing a uniform which is 5 to 10 cm bigger than your child. For example, if your child is 133 cm, chose a 140 cm uniform. -

What are the types of uniforms for different levels? A child who is new to tae Kwon Do should choose a 100% cotton, twill fabric uniform (240° gr/m²), which is both soft and lightweight.
A karateka who has been doing karate for 2 years (yellow or orange belt) or who is beginning to compete, should choose a ribbed cloth uniform. Its polyester/cotton composition (240 gr/m²) results in a good post-shrinkage fit, and dries quickly.
