used for 1 week or less Just bought this bike last night and already very pleased with it. First trip to work this morning and the bike is very responsive, comfortable and easy to get going.

used for More than 1 year I have now had my nework 5 for 18 months and have done thousands of miles on it without any major problems - I have other more expensive bikes but the nework 5 is my everyday commuter and it never lets me down - one suggestion - please fit better pedals - i removed mine within days of purchase - the only cheap feeling component on the bike - other than that - well done btwin - i will buy another !!!

Spur of the moment buy.

Great package for not a lot of money.

Do not have any.

used for 3 to 6 months I went to buy a new set of tyres and came out with this bike on a spur of the moment decision. When i go t home i read the reviews and thought "****" . I can only think the bad reviewers were unlucky . This has more than filled my expectations in build quality and value for money. The staff in the Auchinlea Way, Glasgow Branch were excellent and knew what they are talking about .I wish i had taken the guy who sold me the bikes name as he was a credit to Decathalon . When i took it back in for the free service again different sales staff but just as helpful. I just wanted a cheap bike to get me to work but now find i am using this more than some of the more expensive bikes i have

Excellent Bike - good value for money

Hub Dynamo, pannier rack, mud guards, etc etc etc

nothing so far after about 140 miles many hills!!

used for 2 to 8 weeks I was a bit reluctant to go for this bike, judging by some of the review comments however the spec for the money clinched it for me. Done about 140 miles with lots of hills I found the gear change very easy (some chain rubbing on the guard using extreme gear combinations). Also replaced the saddle which I found too soft for long rides (replaced with Charge Spoon from my previous bike). Also impressed there will be a free check up after three months.. Someone mentioned punctures - had one on the second outing a 1 inch thorn through the side wall - lucky I ordered spare tubes also. Not even the best puncture resistant tyre could deal with that one.
So all in all a good purchase, a bargain for the spec. Looking forward to the 80 miles Red Kite Ride end of August 2014.

Response of the brand

Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking the time to review the b'Twin Hoptown 500 hybrid bike.  This is one of our most popular bikes due to it's high level of specification for the money (dynamo lights, rear pannier rack and mudguards).

Don't forget to make good use of your free safety service which you can redeem anytime during the first three months.  Just contact your local Decathlon store workshop to arrange this.

I hope you continue to enjoy using your bike.

Alot of Equipment for not much money

Poorly setup in Shop

I bought this bike as I've always been a fan of Btwin bikes, you can't get much more bike for your money!

Excellent bike for commuting on and has everything you need, lights, dynamo, pannier rack, mud guard, comfy seat and good brakes

Only thing that lets this bike down and stops the 5 *'s was the setup, I cannot get onto the large cog on the front meaning i only have gears 1-14, will need to take it to a local shop to get setup correctly as decathlon is too far to return too.
